This captivating 7days Safari begins in and ends in Nairobi! Sonder Travels will take you through Nairobi and its environs. This is a small group safari package covering four destinations in Kenya. Hotel accommodation, expert guide, meals, transport costs are covered in this package price. Travel destinations in this package include Nairobi, Aberdares, Samburu, and the Maasai Mara.
Day 1: Aberdare
We pick our new arrivals from JKI airport to Aberdare Country Club for lunch afterward we check you into the Ark lodge for the night. You will get to tour the Aberdare National Park that was established in 1950. This park is within the Aberdare Mountain Ranges near the great the East African Rift Valley just about 100 km north of Nairobi City. The park encompasses an extensive range of landscapes, valleys, rivers, waterfalls, bamboo, rainforests forests and Moorland. Visible wildlife includes elephant, lion, leopard, East African wild dog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, waterbuck, mountain reedbuck, Cape buffalo, suni, side-striped jackal, eland, duiker, olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, and Sykes monkey.
Day 2: Samburu
After breakfast, we drive to the Samburu National Reserve arriving in at lunchtime, after lunch an afternoon game drive and then spent the night at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Samburu is located in northern Kenya. This vast semi-arid land has savannahs, forests with a diverse big game. Samburu National Reserve is among the best destinations for safari first-timers. This reserve is home to all the big cats, like the leopards, wild dogs, Grevy’s zebra; reticulated giraffe, the long-necked gerenuk, besia oryx, Somali ostrich, and numerous elephants. This ecosystem is also home to over 400 bird species to the delight birders and wildlife, the Ewaso Ngiro River provides perfect game viewing sceneries and captivating cultural experiences and interactions from the locals.
Day 3: Samburu
Game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. After lunch wproceed on a late afternoon game drive. Overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha
Breakfast then drive to Lake Naivasha, stopping en-route for a picnic lunch at Thomson ́s fall. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge.
Naivasha has a deep history of romances and wonderful escapades. The Lake Naivasha ecosystem is famed for its huge numbers of flamingos, vast plain lands that blend into the Masai Mara. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake northwest of Nairobi in the Great Rift Valley. Naivasha is a Maasai name meaning “rough water” due to sudden storms which usually occur on the lake.
Day 5: Maasai Mara
Early breakfast then drives to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive. Overnight stay at the Ashnil Mara Camp. The Masai Mara National Reserve has unfenced borders with a number of private conservancies, traversing from Kenya to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. This huge thriving landscape reserve is the top wildlife destination in Africa. The Masai Mara has a diverse and excellent population of game like lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, zebra, giraffe, eland, hyena, gazelles among many others.
Not to forget the greatest spectacles every July to November, the Wildebeest Migration. This migration is such a dramatic mass movement of millions of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles in across the Mara river crossings where huge crocodiles prey on the migrating game.
Day 6: Maasai Mara
An early morning balloon safari over the Mara or take an early morning game-drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. After lunch we proceed on a late afternoon game drive. Overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.
Day 7: Depart
After breakfast return to Nairobi, with a picnic lunch from Ashnil Mara Camp en-route. Visit the Karen Blixen Museum. Thereafter proceed with your chosen extension or return home. The Karen Blixen Museum was constructed in 1912 a wealthy Swedish civil engineer. It served as the main residence on his Swedo-African coffee company. In 1985, it featured in the film production of Out of Africa, and soon after became part of the National Museums of Kenya. The Karen Blixen Museum is in a calm environment with ties to the past colonial history of European settlement and cultivation in East Africa. The Museum house’s architecture is a classic 19th-century European suburbs bungalow, with spacious rooms, verandas, tile roofs. The Museum is also, surrounded by indigenous forest, in the vicinity of the Ngong Hills.
